Customise your welcome slide and colour palette

The welcome slide is what we call the first slide in the deck, or “front cover”. The data about you and your client all comes through automatically, but you can change the background image to one that’s on brand for your practice. You can also set the default title for the document (“Portfolio Review” by default), and choose a colour palette that’s used throughout the deck for visually separating entities, asset classes and chart elements.

When you open the welcome slide in PresoManager those 2 3 items will be editable:

Edit the colour palette

1. Choose a palette from the drop-down menu.

2. Navigate through some of the other slides to see that palette in use.

3. Either return to the welcome slide to choose another palette or just click Donecontinue making other edits as below.

Set the default document title

1. Click in the text box below the date (this will say “Portfolio Review” by default but may have been changed to something else if you are part of a dealer group).

2. Edit the title to whatever you want the default to be for everyone in your practice.

3. Continue making other edits to the slide.

Replace the background image

1. Click on the image once to bring up the image menu:

   

    

2. Click the 3-dot icon .:

   Image Added

3. Click Remove

4. Click anywhere on the image box once. This will open your computer’s file chooser.

5. Find the image file on your computer and click to confirm.

6. Position and size your image within the image box. There are a few buttons/functions to help you make it exactly how you want:

   1. Zoom buttons to zoom your image in and out.

      

   2. Click and drag to position your image.

   3. From the 3-dot menu :

      Image Added

      1. Zoom to fit within ensures your whole image fits within the image box. Depending on the relative dimensions of your image compared to the image box, this may result in whitespace above, below or to the sides of your image.

      2. Zoom to entirely cover ensures the whole image box is covered by your image. Depending on the relative dimensions of your image compared to the image box, this may result in your image being cropped to fit.

      3. Rotate right and Rotate left turn your image 90° in either direction.

7. Continue making other edits to the slide.

When you’ve finished making your edits to the welcome slide, click Done.

We’ve provided a bunch of Xplan-integrated slides out of the box, but there’s no reason you can’t make your own non-data-driven slides. In fact, you can make as many as you like from our templates in PresoManager, with different layouts of text, images and videos. And, if you can’t find a template you like, you can always suggest a new one.
