Understanding what Xplan data is required for each slide

Last updated 5 December, 2023

LivePreso Advice automates a lot of your legwork by integrating with Xplan to make compliant client reviews or formal ROAs in seconds.

To make your life easier—and the process even quicker—If we can’t find the data for a particular slide for your client then we’ll turn off the slide automatically so it’s really obvious if anything is missing. You can see this when you go to the slide sorter for a preso you’ve made.

For example, in the screenshot below of the slide sorter, no current insurance or estate planning data was found, so those 2 slides were automatically turned off:

Furthermore, when you view a slide in prep mode, a little Data Sources widget appears in the bottom-right corner. If we had no issues fetching the data for that client, the widget will be green:

Clicking on it will show you some more information:

Note: As the message suggests, this confirms we were able to connect to Xplan successfully. However, it’s still possible for some of the slides to be turned off if our filtering of the data meant that there was nothing to display.

If there were any issues retrieving the data from Xplan, the widget will be yellow:

Clicking on it will show you much more detailed information that you can give to your Xplan admin or to our support team to help debug:
