Prepping and editing your preso

Available to all users
On the appointment screen, the Slides and Prep buttons provide 2 ways to select, edit and preview your interactive content to prepare it for your client.
Note: However you leave a slide in prep mode is how it will initially look when you present or share it with your client. For example, if you filter the view to a particular client or entity, that’s what the slide will display when you go to use it. You’ll still have the ability to change it during your meeting (and your clients can do likewise when they view a shared preso), but prep mode sets up the initial display options for each slide.
Slide sorter
The Slides button opens the slide sorter, which shows a visual overview of all the slides that were created for you:
Slides that are automatically turned off
If Xplan returned no data for a particular slide it will be turned off automatically. You can still have a look at a slide that’s been turned off (by clicking its thumbnail), and it will usually tell you what data couldn’t be found.
Turning off slides manually
You can choose to turn on and off any slides you like for your preso by clicking the checkboxes .
Prep-only slides
Any slide or section marked as prep-only will only appear in prep mode. That is, it will turn itself off automatically when you present to or share with your client:
If you have access to PresoManager, learn how to create prep-only slides for your team.
Reordering slides
You can also reorder slides by clicking the drag handle under a slide’s thumbnail and dragging-and-dropping it wherever you want it.
Presets
If you think you’ll want to use this set and order of slides regularly, you can create what we call a preset to make it even quicker and easier next time. See Creating and using presets for details.
Creating your own slides
If you need to make your own slides for a particular preso, you can do so using the built-in templates, which are covered in Creating your own slides with templates.
Previewing and editing slides
You can click on a slide’s thumbnail to preview it or make any last-minute edits, but we’ll cover editing in more detail via prep mode in the next section.
Prep mode
Note that this button is named Prep until after the scheduled time for the preso, then it will change to Review. Once this happens the preso stops being editable to maintain a faithful record for compliance.
Prep allows you to run through the content that’s been created for you, to look at the whole preso before you either present or share it.
Click into any text box, image or video with a blue border. You’ll have different formatting functions based on the slide’s styling. See Editing text, images and videos for more specific instructions.
Click anywhere on the slide that’s not editable to save your changes.
To preview your changes, click the toggle down the bottom:
To navigate the preso you can use the left and right arrows, the left and right keys on your computer, or you can jump around using the thumbnail timeline below the slide.
When you’ve finished you can go back to the appointment screen by clicking the close button , by right-clicking anywhere on the slide that’s not editable, or via the little pop-up menu down the bottom:
Or, if you’re ready to present to your client, you can jump straight into present mode by clicking Present at the top, checking the box to confirm their attendance and clicking Start preso.
