Asset allocation comparison slide

Asset allocation comparison slide

Last updated 15 November, 2024

Available to all users with access to the Ready Review deck

Requires Xplan access to either IPS or WealthSolver

Note: If you don’t have access to either Xplan module, but someone else in your practice does (like a paraplanner), they can create the preso with their access, then hand it over to you to present or share with your client.

The initial view of this slide is the same as the asset allocation slide, but the Compare tab on this one lets you make comparisons between your clients' current, proposed and target situations. As usual, you can also choose between tabular and chart views.

Subslides

None by default, but a subslide will be created on the fly if you add notes to the slide.

While not a subslide, the Compare tab provides a completely separate view—described below.

Interactivity

  1. The dropdown at the top filters the view to show the asset allocation for whichever entity is chosen, or All.

  2. The checkboxes at top-right let you choose whether to show the pie chart, the table or both side by side (as above):

    image-20241115-034656.png

  3. Clicking on the pie chart segments explodes the asset category to show its asset class breakdowns. Clicking one of the sub-segments toggles back to the asset category segment view.

  4. Clicking the asset category headings in the table expands to list the asset class breakdowns. Clicking them again collapses them.

  5. Clicking the Compare tab switches to the comparison view:

  6. By default the comparison is current vs target. However, clicking the dropdowns in the column headings lets you change the comparison to any version of current, target and the proposed asset allocation from your chosen WealthSolver scenario or IPS. This example shows current vs proposed:

  7. Selecting the Column chart option at the top-right switches the comparison to a more visual, chart view, initially at the asset category level:

  8. Clicking View detail on the Growth side breaks out the growth asset classes:

  9. Clicking Defensive switches to its asset class breakdown:

  10. Clicking Back to summary switches back to the asset category view.

  11. You can create actions and notes before, after and even during your meetings:
